307 Tchoupitoulas St, Penthouse 500. Though she rarely actually remembers she owns it, falling asleep only when she drops completely. Cassie often forgets she even has a permanent house, passing out on park benches when she gets too tired.

Personal Information

General Overview. Cassie was born over five thousand years ago to a mortal mother who had no idea the man she was in love with was a Nephilim. When Cassie first predicted the future at the tender age of six, the village was convinced that she was a witch and tried to sacrifice her to appease the gods. Lucien Silvano, a Vampire King from Romania, stumbled across the scene, killed all in sight for daring to harm a child, and took Cassie. Cassie was raised in his castle in Romania, Întuneric, where she had a happy, albeit unusual, childhood. Under the shelter of one of the most powerful vampires in the world, Cassie flourished and was protected from other immortals who would attempt to kidnap her and do harm to her. Any who would use her power for their own gain. However, at the age of eighteen, Cassie left her dad based on a vision that told her she was needed in the new undiscovered land of the natives. Arriving there, she settled in the swamp of the area which would later become New Orleans. She’s been there ever since.

Flaws and Weaknesses

Mad Oracle. Five thousand years of a constant stream of the future and past have taken their toll on Cassie. She’s less and less sane by the day. She often speaks in rhymes, curses, or flickers through the various languages she’s learned over the years. Getting a straight answer out of her is almost impossible.

All Magic Comes With a Price. Every time Cassie interferes with the future, she pays with even more of her sanity. And that toll keeps adding up. More importantly, her foresight has a significant flaw, the more she cares about someone the more their future is blurred to her. Her foster father is a complete blank to her.

Daddy’s Girl. Lucien still requires Cassie to check in every week with him via telephone, and no matter how insane she gets, she always remembers to check in. If she doesn’t, Lucien will descend on New Orleans like a plague, killing all in his wake.

Another Enemy. Cassie’s mouth gets her in trouble more than it gets her out of it. When she’s not spewing prophecies, she’s spewing hard truths. This makes her a bit of an outcast when it comes to friends. Who wants to be friends with someone who will tell you the lottery numbers in one breath, and then that you will never be able to save the person you love the next?

Skills And Abilities

Immortality. She is technically immortal. Immune to the effects of aging, cannot die by any conventional means, and is immune to all known mortal diseases and infections. Oracles are notoriously hard to kill, the only known method is beheading.

Foresight. Oracles have the ability to foresee possible futures and observe what may happen. As knowledge of the future invariably causes that future to change, visions of the future are subject to frequent shifting. While not being able to select futures or travel through time, these visions may assist in possible courses of action. Some points are in flux, others are fixed, Oracles see all. Flux events can become fixed, fixed events cannot be changed or even slightly altered, they always happen. When an Oracle sees a fixed event, their eyes become completely white, and their body freezes up causing a seizure. When they experience fixed points, Oracles physically experience the fixed event as if they were actually happening to them at that moment but without actually going anywhere, allowing them to not only experience the event but also know what is going on then, including sights, smells, sounds, feelings, tastes, their emotional state at the time and even see and hear the people around them at that moment. Cassie uses this power for one sole purpose, to steer the immortals around her in order to circumvent all the various apocalypses that they tempt daily.

Hindsight. Oracles can discern the past and past events using various means, usually entering a trance while seeing and hearing a noted past event, whether it be concerning themselves or of an unfamiliar lineage in a past occurrence. For Hindsight, Oracles need to be physically touching a person. Cassie avoids using this power whenever possible, she has trouble remembering her own past, let alone someone else’s.

Personal Attire

Normal Daily Wear. Rompers, short dresses, shorts and crop tops, anything comfy or usually around. She can often be seen in the Quarter missing her left shoe because she forgot to put it on.

Magical Artifacts/Weapons

Dragon Scale. Before dragons were hunted to the point of extinction, she found a scale in the middle of a field and kept it close to her at all times. She’s not sure why she values it so, but knows that it will be important one day.

The Same By Many Guises. Legends of Oracles are littered throughout history, influencing kings and their people with their predictions. Most of the time, these were Cassie under a different guise. Lucien gave her a necklace long ago that allows her to alter her appearance temporarily. The Guise lasts for 24 hours then needs 24 hours to recharge, which is why Oracles are usually said to be reclusive and hard to get ahold of.

Name is Cassandra Silvano, also known as Cassie, Blondie, the Norn, the Ma’at, the Oracle of Delphi, crazy bitch, and 2021 Button Hurling Olympic Gold Medalist. I’ve called New Orleans my home for the last five thousand years. When the Source first cracked in 1812, I felt the ground rumble, the very magic that once coursed across the world, sucked dry to protect the city from the bigger battle that took place at the same time. Their magic, the Witches, Warlocks, and more, and ties to the Source sucked them dry, their bodies dropping one by one as their hearts gave out, pushed past all limits to protect this city. For a while, only a trickle of magic fed the rest of the world, the Source itself blocked and flowing in different directions.

That was until a couple weeks ago. The Source is awakening, and I don’t know why. I’m blind to the future of our fair city, blocked by someone with far more power than should be possible.

So many pieces need to be moved, so many creatures in play, the millions of chessboards in my mind all poised to take the king.
