General Overview

Oracles are born as mortals, there is no discernible pattern for who is tapped by the Source to become an Oracle. They experience their first vision of their future at six or seven, becoming fully immortal around mid 20s. Unbenownst to most of the Oracles still around, Oracles lineage is actually the key to them seeing the future. Most Oracles have Nephilim in their family, the most close their relationship to the Nephilim, the more powerful the Oracle. Oracles are more than simply psychic, psychics are mortals and only see hints of the future, though they are linked to Oracles in their lineage.

Oracles see the future in full clarity, but at a terrible price, every time Oracles act to change the future they see, they pay with a piece of their sanity. Oracles often live short, painful lives as most other immortals jockey for control of them, or kill them when they belong to their enemies. That is if they don’t go mad and kill themselves before then.

Oracles don’t recognize a tribe, not even each other, they recognize no ruler or leader. Oracles are isolated beings, and extremely suspicious of other beings, as they are almost always exploited for their gift. They recognize one form of god, or power that be, it is Fate. Whether it is the Moirai, the Norn or Ma’at, they see it as a single entity in different forms.

Oracles are often described as Insane, tricky, manipulative, nomadic. Oracles can be anyone, their only defining trait is when they experience a particularly powerful vision, their eyes go completely white. Oracles are extremely rare and only a handful exist.

Abilities

  • Technically immortal. Immune to the effects of aging, cannot die by any conventional means, and is immune to all known mortal diseases and infections. Oracles are extremely hard to kill, and can regenerate from all but their head being removed.
  • Foresight. Oracles have the ability to foresee possible futures and observe what may happen. As knowledge of the future invariably causes that future to change, visions of the future are subject to frequent shifting. While not being able to select futures or travel through time, these visions may assist in possible courses of action. Some points are in flux, others are fixed, Oracles see all. Flux events can become fixed, fixed events cannot be changed or even slightly altered, they always happen. When an Oracle sees a fixed event, their eyes become completely white, and their body freezes up causing a seizure. When they experience fixed points, Oracles physically experience the fixed event as if they were actually happening to them at that moment but without actually going anywhere, allowing them to not only experience the event but also know what is going on then, including sights, smells, sounds, feelings, tastes, their emotional state at the time and even see and hear the people around them at that moment.
  • Hindsight. Oracles can discern the past and past events using various means, usually entering a trance while seeing and hearing a noted past event, whether it be concerning themselves or of an unfamiliar lineage in a past occurrence. For Hindsight, Oracles need to be physically touching a person.

Psychics

True Psychics are children or descendants of unions between Oracles and mortals, though their powers are diluted.
